(Would it be all right if I did? If not, then I won't get irritable if this deleted. Honest.)
I'm Marianne, and I'm from Maryland, USA Inc. I've played a lot of video games and board games for years. I enjoy both a lot, but I've been having fun a bit more with my mom and some of our friends playing board games.
Some of the consoles I still own are Nintendo Gamecube, Nintendo Wii, and PlayStation 2.
I also have a handheld gaming system. Nintendo DS.
I've recently hooked up my Gamecube again to my TV. I've been playing back and forth between The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Mario Kart: Double Dash, and Mario Party 5.
To describe the kind of video gamer I am, I would say I am a Retro and Last Generation gamer. I unfortunately never have the budget to get the latest systems soon after they come out, especially when I'm having to gradually progress in getting what I need so I can apply for a part-time job and to have my book selling business online. Long story there.
I've done two video gaming music remixes. I'd love to do more. There's a bunch of ideas that I have. Even a longer version and my own take of a mash-up version of the night music track from Top Gear (SNES) and Star Fox's Corneria Theme (SNES) than what I heard on YouTube before. (These two of my favorite VGM tracks sound really good together OMG!!
www.youtube.com/watch?v=HFOOUH… <-- check 3:42 - 3:53 of this to see what I mean. I first heard this and thought, "That's awesome, but too short! This should be longer!")
I've completed an original Sonic.EXE track too. I'm thinking about getting back into music making again.
It's been a long while, and I miss music making on the PC.
As for board games, gosh I've played a bunch so far. XD There's a lot more than the respective classics such as Monopoly, Life, Trouble, etc. Some of my favorites include titles such as Splendor, Ugh, Roll for It, Robo Rally, and Sushi Go!
Hope to make some buddies here.
I must say, I'm impressed at the fanart I've seen that's been shared in this group. I shared two of mine, colored pencil sketches of favorite video game characters. They're about mediocre compared to what else I've seen. lol
